The 4th generation offers groundbreaking improvements in processor speed, enabling smooth media playback. The RAM and connectivity have also been upgraded compared with the previous version, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. Important features such as backward compatibility and similarly low power consumption have been carried over to the new generation.

For end users, the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B offers solid desktop performance comparable to entry-level regular office PCs.

Key features include a powerful 64-bit ARM v8 quad-core processor, super-fast 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM, and support for up to two 4K displays via two Micro HDMI ports. Hardware video decoding of up to 4K@60Hz is also supported. The board's networking capabilities are provided by dual-band 802.11 b/g/n/ac wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) and a Gigabit Ethernet port.

The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B offers additional interfaces with two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and a fast Bluetooth 5.0 interface. By using an additional PoE (Power over Ethernet) HAT, the computer can also be powered via the LAN interface.

These modules have been used in display units to a limited extent and are supplied with the same full warranty as new modules, but without the original packaging.

The modules may be equipped with one or more heatsinks. If these need to be removed, for example because of an enclosure, it is recommended to twist the heatsink, slide a thin strand such as dental floss underneath it, or heat the adhesive with a hair dryer.
