Product description
The development board is based on the ATmega32U4 with an integrated USB controller. Unlike many other Arduino-compatible solutions, this eliminates the need for a separate USB-to-serial chip, as the connection to the computer runs directly through the Micro-USB port. This enables space-saving projects with full microcontroller functionality and direct computer connectivity.
The integrated USB controller provides extended functionality beyond the serial interface. The board can present itself to the computer as a keyboard, mouse or other HID device. This makes it possible to create custom input devices, macro keys or MIDI controllers without requiring additional interfaces.
The 24 contacts are distributed across two opposing headers and expose 12 digital I/O pins, 10 ADC-capable analog inputs, and the I2C, SPI and UART bus connections. Five of the digital pins support PWM outputs for brightness control or motor control. Power is supplied either via USB or through the RAW pin, which accepts an unregulated input voltage between 6 and 12 V and regulates it to the internal 5 V.
The board is programmed with the Arduino IDE, with the board selection set to Leonardo. The Arduino development environment and a Micro-USB cable are required, as well as a power supply if external power is supplied via RAW.
