Product description
The PoE splitter separates power and data from an Ethernet cable according to IEEE 802.3af and directly powers 5 V devices with a USB-C connector. Provided a PoE power source (injector or PoE-enabled switch) is available, a separate power supply for the connected device is no longer needed.
The splitter regulates the input voltage of up to 57 V to a constant 5 V and provides up to 2 A of output current. This current capacity covers typical applications such as single-board computers, USB cameras, or external storage devices. The network connection continues to operate at 100 Mbps without interruption, as data and power are carried over separate wire pairs.
Applications include powering network surveillance cameras on existing cable runs, powering remote sensors, or operating network-attached storage without additional power lines. During mobile testing, the system avoids the need to run separate power cables in hard-to-reach areas.
A PoE-capable power source is required on the network, such as a switch or injector compliant with the IEEE 802.3af standard. The output cable is connected to the USB-C device once and must be rated for the required current. Devices with power consumption above 10 W require an additional power supply.
Safety notice
The PoE splitter is not intended for use in household electrical circuits and is designed exclusively for prototyping, testing, and development purposes. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by qualified electricians. If you have questions about integrating it into an existing network infrastructure, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
