Product Description

The PPM encoder converts multiple PWM signals from an RC receiver into the serial PPM format processed by flight-control autopilots such as Pixhawk. The module therefore serves as an interface adapter between the received control pulses and the flight controller.

The module receives multiple PWM channels from the RC receiver and encodes them into a combined PPM data stream. This reduced connection requirement saves pins on the flight controller. The 5 V input voltage corresponds to the standard used by RC receivers, allowing a direct connection without a level converter.

Typical applications include multi-rotor aircraft that combine conventional RC remote controls with modern autopilots, or fixed-wing aircraft that require both manual and autonomous flight phases. The module is installed between the RC receiver and the Pixhawk autopilot.

The requirements are an RC system with a PWM output on the receiver and an autopilot system that accepts PPM inputs. The module requires a 5 V power supply, which is usually provided by the receiver or flight controller.
