Product Description
This OLED display with I2C interface displays text and graphics in two colors at a resolution of 128*64 pixels. The self-emissive technology requires no backlight, thereby saving power compared with LCD variants. Individual pixels can be controlled independently, allowing for any fonts, bar graphs, or symbols.
The display operates at 3.3 V and communicates with the connected controller board via the I2C bus. This reduces the wiring required to four wires (power supply, ground, data line, clock signal). Multiple I2C modules can be operated in parallel in one circuit without using additional connection pins. The control electronics are already integrated into the module.
The display is suitable for measuring devices that show temperature, humidity, or other sensor data, for small menu systems on battery-powered devices, or for debug output during programming. For example, a data logger with a timestamp display only requires the display as a visual interface, while the memory operates separately.
Operation requires an I2C-capable development environment and the corresponding libraries for the board being used. A 3.3 V power supply is required for operation. Boards with 5 V logic require a level shifter between the data lines, as the display itself can only tolerate 3.3 V.
