Product Description
The flanged ball bearing is a miniature rolling bearing with a flange for axial mounting on shafts or in bores. It is used wherever model-building drives or robot axles need to be mounted for rotation, while reliable movement is required in confined spaces.
The bearing consists of a steel raceway with integrated steel balls and guides shafts or axles with an 8 mm diameter. The seals (ZZ) on both sides keep out dirt, eliminating the need for relubrication. Due to its miniature design, the bearing can only handle moderate loads and is therefore not designed for heavily loaded main axles or large models.
Applications in model-building electromechanics include gear shafts and propeller drives, while applications in robot chassis include wheel or turntable bearings, as well as LED spotlight frames and small slewing-ring applications. In high-speed systems, the maintenance-free bearing remains permanently ready for use.
The flange mounting hole is concentric with the bore. Suitable mounting components (screws, bearing seats, support rings) must be selected for the specific project; the exact bearing geometry must be checked before designing an axle bearing.
Safety Information
This component is intended exclusively for use in model-building, hobby, and experimental projects. At speeds above the permissible maximum for the bearing type or with insufficient axial support, there is a risk of blockage and resulting damage. Bearing seats and shaft diameters must be designed correctly to ensure safe operation.
