Product Description
This drive platform combines four N20 geared motors with a compact plastic frame. It is suitable for autonomous vehicles, robot projects, and mobile sensor measurement devices in the prototyping field. The four wheels enable movement in all directions, while the gears provide sufficient torque at moderate speeds.
The N20 motors typically operate between 3 and 12 volts. The exact operating voltage and current consumption depend on the selected power supply and the load. With wheels approximately 40 to 50 mm in diameter, the platform reaches speeds of up to around one meter per second on level ground. It quickly reaches its limits on stairs and uneven terrain.
Typical projects use the platform as the basis for a line-follower robot with infrared sensors, as an obstacle-avoiding robot with ultrasonic sensors, or as a test setup for motion control with common microcontroller boards. A remote-controlled vehicle can also be built. Depending on the application, several sensors and a control board can be mounted on or above the chassis.
A power supply using four AA batteries or a suitable power adapter, as well as a motor controller module for controlling the four motors, is required. Depending on the project, sensors, a wireless connection, or additional mechanics may be added. The platform itself has an open design; accessories for camera mounts or manipulators can be adapted as needed.
