Product Description
An audio amplifier with Bluetooth reception is intended for setups that need to output sound from mobile devices without a wired connection. The module wirelessly decodes incoming audio signals and amplifies them to a usable power of up to 3 W per channel when a 4-ohm load is connected. This makes it suitable for speakers in the range of approximately 85 to 90 dB sound pressure level.
The amplifier requires input signals of at least 100 mV to operate. Weaker signals from audio interface line outputs must be preamplified. The Bluetooth connection is designed for the LE standard and is established automatically as soon as a compatible device approaches within approximately 10 m. The volume can be adjusted using the module's button assignment or via an I2C command, enabling integration into control systems.
Operation is exclusively via 5 V DC. Anyone wishing to use external batteries must ensure that a regulated 5 V regulator is used. The module itself does not include its own power supply. Applications range from wireless music boxes for test setups and sound output in mobile robots to notification systems that play voice or alarm signals. A typical application is adding audio output to a multisensor development board without having to run cables to mobile devices.
The available power supply is important. 5 V with a current capacity of at least 1 A is required for continuous operation at higher volume levels. Anyone working only with 3.3 V systems will need a voltage converter. The module is not suitable for installation in devices with a mains voltage connection.
