Product description
The audio amplifier converts digital audio signals into speaker power. With two independent channels of 3 W each, the module is suitable for stereo output in multimedia projects, robotics and real-time applications. Its high level of integration makes it an ideal choice for space-constrained embedded systems.
The module operates with a 5 V power supply and can be connected directly to USB power sources. Line-in signals from microcontroller boards or mobile devices are amplified; the input voltage of up to 1 V is sufficient to deliver full power. Shutdown and thermal protection enable efficient, reliable operation without external regulators.
Applications include audio playback in robots, music projects and interactive installations. A robot project with audio output, such as a voice output module that plays notification messages, can connect the amplifier with just a few wires. I2C addressing allows multiple modules to be operated on a single data bus, for example under the control of a central microcontroller.
Two passive speakers up to 8 Ω can be connected; the input impedance should be at least 10 kΩ to prevent signal losses. A simple power supply is sufficient; no additional switching power supply is required.
