Product Description
The I2C DAC converter converts digital control values into analog voltages. The module operates via the I2C interface, requiring only two data lines in addition to the power supply. This allows multiple converters to be operated on the same bus without using up additional connection pins.
The 12-bit resolution provides 4096 steps for voltage conversion. The output voltage can be continuously adjusted by software between 0 and 5.5 V. With power consumption below 1 mA, the converter is highly energy-efficient and can also be powered by low-power sources.
Applications range from controlling analog input modules and generating reference voltages to driving analog audio inputs and outputs. In a prototyping setup, such as a servo control system, the converter is often used to provide a control voltage for amplifiers in order to control motors or LEDs via the microcontroller.
The required operating voltage is between 2.7 V and 5.5 V. A dedicated power supply can be omitted if the controller being used provides this voltage range. For I2C operation on the same bus, ensure that all modules operate at the same voltage level; different levels require an additional level shifter.
Safety Information
The module is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits. It is intended exclusively for prototyping, testing, and development purposes. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by qualified electricians; if you are unsure about the power supply or voltage compatibility, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
