Product description
The inductive proximity switch LJ12A3 4 Z BX detects the approach of metal parts and outputs a switching signal. The detection principle is based on a high-frequency coil whose magnetic field is affected by nearby metal. At a switching distance of approximately 4 mm, the change in the field triggers the output.
The operating voltage of 6 to 36 V DC makes the module suitable for various power supplies, from battery-powered projects to industrial applications with 24 V DC. The switching output can handle up to 300 mA and can directly drive small relays or LEDs. Since this wide voltage range is supported, precise power supply planning is not required for voltages between 6 and 36 V.
Applications include automatic gates with metal-presence-dependent opening, inventory sensors for inventory management, speed counters on metal machine parts, or position switches on pneumatic cylinders. In a manufacturing automation system with several of these switches, work processes could be coordinated.
The cylindrical design with M12 thread makes installation on machines easier. The IP67 protection rating supports use in damp or dusty environments. For connection, a standard power supply within the specified voltage range and a consumer such as an indicator light or control unit are required.
