Product Description
This optocoupler module with eight channels enables galvanically isolated control of loads. The inputs accept digital signals from microcontroller boards or other digital systems. The outputs are designed as PNP switches, enabling switching against a positive supply voltage, making them particularly suitable for relays, coils, and similar inductive loads.
The galvanic isolation protects the control system from interference voltages and feedback from the load circuit. This makes the module indispensable when sensitive electronics and external loads coexist in a circuit. PNP logic means that the outputs are at the supply voltage in the idle state and switch toward ground when activated.
The module is suitable for controlling industrial relays in laboratory setups, remotely switching loads over longer cables, and building prototype hardware with multiple independently controlled loads. Operating multiple modules in parallel is also possible if sufficient digital outputs are available.
Digital outputs on a microcontroller or an equivalent signal source are required for operation. The supply voltage for the outputs is provided separately and can be independent of the control system's supply, increasing flexibility. Depending on the application, the current consumption of the controlled load must be taken into account to avoid overloading the module.
