Product description
Heat-shrink tubing insulates and mechanically and electrically protects solder joints, cable clamps, and exposed conductor wires. The set contains 100 pieces each in three diameters to cover different cable cross-sections. With a 2:1 shrink ratio, the tubing reliably fits the respective area after heating and sits snugly around it.
When heated, whether with a hair dryer or another heat source, the polyolefin tubing contracts evenly and completely encloses the connection underneath. Particularly with smaller diameters, this also makes microscope work and model-building projects, as well as repairs to headphone and sensor cables, possible.
Larger circuits and assemblies on stripboard require different diameters as needed to insulate conductors and components of varying thicknesses. For stripboard project construction, preparing a mixed selection is sensible. The material has proven effective for stable installation in 3D-printed or soldered enclosures thanks to its chemical resistance.
The set provides enough material for hundreds of connections in a hobby laboratory; used-up pieces can be reordered individually. An external heat source is required for shrinking; open flames damage the material.
Safety information
Heat-shrink tubing must not be heated with open flames. This product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits. If you are unsure before commissioning, consult a qualified electrician.
