Product description

Heat-shrink tubing is used to insulate soldered connections and cable ends and to protect components from moisture and mechanical damage. The tubing is slid over the connection and deforms when heated with a curling iron, soldering iron, or other heat source, forming a tight-fitting sheath. The material retains its insulating properties and enables clean, practical cable work.

The 200 m roll makes it possible to stock different diameters and colors, with each section able to be cut to the required length. Colored variants support circuit organization through visual identification of power supply groups or functional areas, such as red for power supply lines and black for ground. Resistance to moisture, oils, and mechanical forces also facilitates use in harsh operating environments or temporary outdoor setups.

When shrinking the tubing, a sufficiently powerful heat source is required to ensure that it fits evenly and completely. In typical project work, this does not cause any problems, as a curling iron or the tip of a soldering iron is sufficient; for particularly large diameters or larger quantities, a hot-air blower may be advantageous. After shrinking, the material withstands short-term temperatures of up to approximately 120 degrees Celsius.

Operation on power lines or near high-voltage systems is not permitted; a qualified electrician must be consulted for work in or near electrical installations.
