Product description
The ceramic insulation tube is a replacement part for the MK8 Hotend and surrounds the area between the heating block and nozzle. It reduces heat loss upward and prevents filament from hardening in this area before it exits the nozzle.
The tube is suitable for a filament diameter of 1.75 mm and is screwed into the print head using an M6 thread. The ceramic withstands temperatures of up to 250 °C and remains effective as insulation at this temperature without bursting or changing shape.
Continuous regular printer operation or switching to other filament types requires an intact insulation tube so that temperature control between the heated bed and nozzle works precisely. Wear caused by accumulated filament or deformation due to overloading visibly affects print quality.
This part is a wear item that should be replaced at regular intervals depending on frequency of use. Ordering requires that the MK8 Hotend is already available and that its exact year of manufacture or revision has been clarified, as several versions are available.
Safety information
The tube is installed in a print head heated to at least 200 °C and sits directly next to the heating block. Before working in this area, allow the printer to cool completely and disconnect it from the power supply. This replacement is maintenance work on the printer itself and may only be carried out if the printer manufacturer's safety regulations are followed.
