Product Description
The M4 thumb nut corrects unevenness in heated beds that occurs in 3D printers. It is screwed onto the bed's mounting studs and allows all four corners to be adjusted independently in height. This makes it possible to align the print platform parallel to the print head without requiring automatic leveling.
The thread fits common M4 mounting studs on standard heated-bed frames. Turning the nut moves the bed slightly up or down until it has the same distance from the print head everywhere. The brass version withstands the heat radiation from the heated bed better over the long term than plastic.
This solution is particularly useful for 3D printers whose firmware does not offer a leveling compensation function, or when additional fine adjustment is needed. The nut is also useful as a replacement for worn or lost original parts.
During leveling, the heated bed should be at operating temperature, as the metal parts expand slightly when heated. A caliper or digital caliper helps maintain a consistent distance from the print head. The thumb nut does not replace the printer's firmware settings; it supplements them or serves as the sole adjustment tool for mechanical leveling.
Safety Information
The heated bed is in operation during leveling. Contact can cause burns. The thumb nut is intended exclusively for the assembly and operation of 3D printers. If you have questions about safety precautions for the machine, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning it.
