Product Description
The LM8UU linear bearing is a ball bearing displacement bearing for linear guides on 8 mm steel shafts. Its four rows of ball bearings enable smooth straight-line movements with minimal wear, even under load.
The bearing can be mounted on vertical or horizontal shafts and handles axial movements through its rows of balls. The closed housing with a plastic cage protects the bearing from contamination and makes maintenance easier compared with open designs. With an outer diameter of 24 mm and a length of just 15 mm, it can be installed compactly in confined spaces.
Typical applications include carriages in 3D printers, linear axes of gantries, and robot motion mechanisms where precise straight-line movements over several hundred millimeters or meters are required. Depending on operating duration and lubrication, the bearing can handle loads ranging from a few newtons to several hundred newtons.
The shaft must be made of steel or an equivalent material and have a smooth diameter of 8 mm; unevenness or corrosion can cause rough running or premature wear. Regular lubrication with light machine oil or grease is necessary to maintain functionality and service life.
Safety Information
This bearing is intended for prototypes, testing and development projects, and hobby applications. It is not designed for load-bearing structures in construction, use in machinery subject to the Machinery Directive, or safety-critical applications.
