Description
Kitronik Autonomous Robotics Platform – A Fun and Practical Introduction to Robotics with the Raspberry Pi Pico
The Kitronik Autonomous Robotics Platform for Raspberry Pi Pico is a fun and practical introduction to buggy robotics. The Robotics Platform is designed to grow with you and provides additional servo and ultrasonic sensor connections for more advanced projects. This buggy requires a Raspberry Pi Pico with soldered pin headers.
The kit includes the autonomous robotics platform chassis, 2 wheels and tires, a Kitronik line-following sensor board, and an ultrasonic sensor. It requires no soldering and only minimal mechanical assembly. Attach the tires to the wheels, push the wheels onto the preassembled motors, and plug both the line-following sensor and the ultrasonic distance sensor directly into the board. Once assembled, plug the Raspberry Pi Pico into the integrated connector, insert 4 x alkaline AA batteries into the battery holder underneath, and you're ready to go. Your robot buggy is ready for action.
The included booklet guides you step by step through getting started with your robot. It contains detailed assembly instructions, information on preparing the Raspberry Pi Pico , instructions for installing an editor (Thonny), and instructions for writing code for every function of the Robotics Platform. No part of the board is left unexplained.
For those who want to modify their robot buggies, the buggy has 4 threaded mounting points on the chassis, 3 x M3 and 1 x M4. These mechanical mounting points allow you to add custom features, such as cosmetic chassis parts and/or additional robot functions, such as attachments.
To make programming the robot as easy as possible, Kitronik has developed a range of MicroPython modules that you can find here . Further information is available in the booklet included with the kit.
