Infrared Set - Expansion for varikabi

With this expansion set, you can either build an infrared remote control for your varikabi or varikabo robot, or equip your varikabi with infrared light so that it can avoid obstacles even better, follow objects, or be followed by other varikabis.

There are three basic ways to use the infrared LEDs. You can combine each of the three options with various varikabi functions.

1) Infrared flashlight

With an additional battery, you can build an IR remote control for your robot and use it to navigate around your home.

2) Infrared reflective light barrier

If you install the IR LEDs instead of the standard LEDs, pointing toward the sensors on varikabi, the IR light reflected by objects can be detected by the sensors and used for obstacle detection.   

3) varikabi interaction

The IR LEDs can also be used to make a second robot follow or avoid the IR light from your varikabi.
