Product description
A hand-crank generator demonstrates in compact form how mechanical energy is converted into electrical voltage. The kit connects a crank to a DC motor via a gear drive, with the motor functioning as a generator. An LED wired to the motor visibly demonstrates the operating principle.
When the crank is turned, the gear drive powers the motor, whose rotating winding generates a voltage of up to 3 V in a magnetic field. This DC voltage is sufficient to make the LED light up. The voltage level depends on the cranking speed; turning faster produces brighter light.
In physics lessons, the kit provides a direct demonstration of electromagnetic induction without the need for external energy sources. The model is also suitable for initial experiments with generators and for explaining electrical circuits. The setup operates independently of power sources, as the hand crank alone supplies the necessary mechanical energy.
