Product description
This 64-piece gear set provides components for constructing simple to medium-complex gearboxes. The individual gears with different diameters and module sizes are mounted on steel axles, allowing you to select various gear ratios for changing rotational speed.
The principle is simple: gears with different numbers of teeth mesh with one another and transmit rotary motion at the desired ratio. If you need a ratio of 1:3, combine a 20-tooth gear with a 60-tooth gear. This allows motors to be slowed down while increasing torque, which is necessary for movement under load.
The gears fit standard axle diameters and can be mounted on common building plates. In robot construction, the set is used when the drive wheels of a vehicle need increased torque, or when a mechanical project requires gear ratios for precise movement. Even where space is limited, it provides a compact solution compared with individual large gear motors.
A mounting structure, steel axles with suitable diameters and a power source for the motor are required. The gears themselves wear out during long operating periods; at high torque or abrupt changes in direction, individual gears may break.
