Product Description
This geared motor is a DC motor with a gearbox upstream and a wheel already mounted. The motor and gearbox are enclosed in the plastic housing, and the short output shaft carries the wheel with a yellow rim and black tire. The compact unit measures 70 * 20 * 23 mm and is lightweight, which is essential for mobile projects.
Power is supplied through two connection points on the motor, which can be connected either with terminals or solder wire. At operating voltages between 3 and 6 V, the gearbox with its 1:48 gear ratio reaches speeds of 90 rpm at 3 V and 200 rpm at 6 V, respectively. Torque increases with the voltage from approximately 0.15 Nm to up to 0.60 Nm.
The wheel, with a diameter of 65 mm and a width of 28 mm, has a rubber tire with tread on a rigid rim. This combination provides traction on the ground while keeping weight low. Speed and direction can be controlled using a motor driver with a PWM signal, or reversed by swapping the connections.
These motors are used in robot chassis, remote-controlled vehicles, and custom walking machines. Typically, two or four of these drives are operated in parallel to implement various steering concepts. Operation requires a motor driver that processes the controller's logic levels and supplies sufficient current to the motor.
