Product description
The hexacopter frame provides the structure for a six-motor multicopter with a 550 mm rotor-to-rotor distance. The construction of plastic frames and aluminum struts combines stability and minimal weight with ease of repair; individual arms can be replaced without special tools. This eliminates long repair times after damage during operation.
The foldable arms enable compact storage and transport without increasing the flight weight. Two permanently mounted landing skids increase ground clearance and protect the frame during landing. The motor mounts are designed for standard brushless motors measuring 22 mm, which are common in RC modeling.
With a maximum payload of 2.5 kg, camera modules, additional sensors, or an expanded power supply can be integrated. The electronics must be procured separately: a flight controller for flight stabilization, six motor controllers for control, and a power supply using lithium-polymer batteries. Depending on the motor selection and payload, the flight weight will vary.
Applications include aerial photography with lightweight cameras, surveying areas, or inspecting structures at heights of up to approximately 100 meters. The frame is also suitable as a learning platform for drone fundamentals and for testing control algorithms, as assembly requires basic knowledge of electromechanics and allows different motor combinations and controllers to be tested.
The construction requires experience with RC models or instruction in handling rotating rotors. Before the first flight, the motors, controllers, and sensors must be fully calibrated. Replacement parts for assemblies are available from specialist retailers.
Safety information
This frame is intended exclusively for the assembly, testing, and development of multicopter systems, not for regular air traffic. Rotating rotors and propellers pose a risk of injury; operation requires suitable protective equipment and sufficient open space. All electrical connections and the torque at the motor mounts must be checked by a qualified person.
