Product Description
This expansion board adds professional power management and emergency power functionality to single-board computers. The module supplies 5 V to the main board and an additional 3.3 V for connected sensors and modules, allowing devices with different voltage requirements to be operated from a single power connection. An integrated lithium-ion battery automatically takes over in the event of a power failure and enables the system to shut down in a controlled manner instead of being forcibly interrupted.
The board features an emergency stop switch for immediate power disconnection and a soft-shutdown switch that cleanly shuts down the operating system. These two functions prevent data loss caused by improper shutdowns. The standard GPIO pin header allows additional expansion modules to be connected at the same time without soldering.
The board is suitable for stationary projects with increased reliability requirements, such as smart home hubs that must remain accessible even during power outages, or data logging systems at remote locations. The UPS function is also valuable for hobby weather stations or monitoring solutions that need to run continuously.
Operation requires a power supply that provides at least 5 V with sufficient current. The battery must be charged before first use. The board fully occupies the standard GPIO connector and does not allow a second identical expansion board to be stacked on the same socket.
Safety Notice
The module is not intended for installation in household electrical systems and is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. The lithium-ion battery must not be overcharged or short-circuited; if the battery is damaged, the board must be replaced before commissioning. Work on or in the immediate vicinity of the power supply must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
