Product description
A development board with an integrated ESP8266 Wi-Fi module combines a microcontroller with wireless connectivity. The board is suitable for building networked sensor systems, IoT prototypes, and wireless controls that exchange data over the local Wi-Fi network. The low operating voltage of 3.3 V saves energy and enables battery operation without an additional regulator.
The ESP8266 chip provides 30 usable inputs and outputs, including an analog input for measured values. Programmers can use the open development environment and the 4 MB of volatile and non-volatile memory capacity for firmware and data. The USB port powers the board during development and programming, eliminating the need for a separate power source initially.
Typical projects include temperature and humidity monitoring stations that send their readings to the home network, or mobile controls for small motors and relays, such as switching lights or triggering alarms. The board also works as a data logger with local storage and optional cloud upload when external sensors are connected to the pins.
The board requires a Wi-Fi network for operation. Programming is carried out via a standard Micro-USB cable and the Arduino-like development environment or alternative tooling. An external power supply is required as soon as USB power is insufficient. The typical wireless range is 100 to 150 m outdoors and significantly less indoors when obstacles are present.
Safety information
The board operates with 3.3 V logic levels and is not intended for connection to mains voltage. Use the development board exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and learning purposes. Work on or immediately beside electrical installations is reserved for qualified electricians; if you have questions about integration into existing electrical systems, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
