Product Description
The EC3 connector set provides a detachable connection between cables in model making. The system consists of a male and female connector, each with two round metal contacts in the so-called bullet format. The 3.5 mm contact pins are gold-plated, keeping contact resistance low and protecting the contact surfaces against corrosion.
The plastic housing is shaped so that the male and female connectors fit together in only one orientation. The positive and negative markings prevent mix-ups, and the contacts cannot be connected with incorrect polarity. The form-fitting geometry keeps the connection secure even under vibration and ensures stable electrical contact.
The set is suitable for medium current loads, such as those found in small to medium-sized electric RC models for cars, aircraft, and boats. Typical applications include cables between the battery and speed controller or between the speed controller and motor.
The cables are soldered to the contacts before assembly, after which the contacts are inserted into the housing. The solder joints are located inside the housing and are therefore protected. The material withstands the heat generated during soldering. The maximum load is 60 A continuous current, and cable cross-sections of up to 4.0 mm² fit the solder tabs.
Safety Information
Soldering generates high temperatures; although the plastic can withstand them, take care to avoid burns. The set is intended exclusively for assembling RC models and for testing and development purposes, and is not suitable for installation in household electrical circuits. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by qualified electricians.
