Product Description
The breakout board converts the dense 25-pin DB-25 connector strip into individual solder pad connections. The board brings all contacts of the parallel D-Sub connector together on a circuit board and provides individual access to each pin instead of requiring test leads to be inserted into the row.
Each of the 25 pins is implemented as a separate solder pad on the board. This eliminates the need to search for individual contacts in the connector and significantly reduces mix-ups. If you need to read parallel interfaces in legacy devices or connect control lines from older devices to microcontroller boards, you can connect this board instead of using many loose wires.
Applications range from troubleshooting parallel printer or scanner ports and connecting relay modules to commissioning control boards that still use parallel outputs. In everyday laboratory use, the board also enables several control lines to be accessed quickly at once without having to set up individual test connections each time.
The board is soldered or plugged onto the connector side, depending on the design. Thin wires or individual pin headers can be soldered to the pads for further connections, which is standard practice for prototypes. Fitting female headers also enables connection via jumper wires.
