Product Description
The A2212 8T brushless motor is a three-phase motor without carbon brushes for small aircraft. Designed for multicopters, racing drones, and lightweight aircraft models, it requires an electronic speed controller, or ESC, for operation. The ESC controls the power supply using pulse-width modulation. The winding with 8 turns per coil enables efficient energy use in the typical voltage range of 9 to 12 volts.
The speed constant of 1800 rpm/V means that the rotational speed changes linearly with the applied voltage, without requiring complex control logic. With a standard propeller of approximately 10 to 12 inches, this motor produces between 500 and 800 grams of thrust, making it suitable for aircraft with a total weight of up to approximately two kilograms. The construction is maintenance-free and withstands hundreds of operating hours.
Typical applications include small quadcopters and octocopters for aerial photography or scientific measurements at altitudes of up to 100 meters, small racing drones with rapid maneuvers, and lightweight electric-powered aircraft models. The motor can also be used as a secondary propeller for vertical takeoff in hybrid aircraft.
The motor can briefly withstand voltage surges of up to 15 volts, but should be operated regularly at the specified 9 to 12 volts. A suitable propeller size and properly rated ESC are required to prevent overloading. LiPo batteries with a discharge rate of at least 20C ensure stable flight operation.
Safety Notice
The propellers rotate at high speed when power is applied and can cause serious injuries. Never touch this motor while the propeller is running or test it near people. Operation is intended exclusively for prototypes and test setups for development purposes and is not suitable for connection to household mains electricity. Consult a qualified electrician before connecting it to high-voltage power supplies.
