Product description

This stereo audio amplifier with an integrated TDA7297 chip is suitable for building active speakers, vehicle audio systems, and upgrading the line outputs of consumer electronics. The module operates with a single supply voltage and does not require a balanced power supply configuration.

The input signal reaches the circuit board via the 3.5 mm jack socket, where a rotary potentiometer controls the volume for both channels simultaneously. The amplifier then outputs the signal to the speakers via two separate screw terminals. A blue LED indicates the operating status.

Since the chip is designed for operating voltages between 6 and 18 V, it can be used with 12 V power supplies, such as lead-acid batteries or stationary power supplies. The soldered-on aluminum heatsink dissipates the heat generated during operation, while the chip protects itself from damage through short-circuit monitoring and thermal shutdown.

Practical applications range from building small portable active speakers to equipping vehicles with audio systems or expanding TVs and radios with external speakers. The limited space on the circuit board and the simple circuitry make the module a compact component for such projects. A 12 V power supply or a suitable power source in the range of 6 to 18 V is required, along with speakers having an impedance between 4 and 8 Ω.
