- Minimal component layout with direct port connections for wiring
Product description
This development board is intended for projects where a compact microcontroller with limited requirements is sufficient. The ATTiny44 requires significantly fewer connection lines than more extensive controllers and can therefore be used particularly space-efficiently, for example in portable sensors, simple data loggers, or decentralized control circuits. The 5 V power supply allows direct connection to common power sources without a voltage converter.
Programming is performed via the ISP interface (In-System Programmer), which requires a separate programmer. The 8 kB flash memory is sufficient for manageable firmware projects. Six digital ports can be used to control switches, relays, or LEDs, while the analog input enables the acquisition of sensor signals. All connections are readily accessible on the board.
The board is suitable for beginners who want to learn the basics of microcontrollers, as well as for experienced hobbyists with limited space. In sensor networks, where several decentralized units collect and transmit measured values, the ATTiny44 can serve as a cost-effective network node. Its low power consumption also makes the controller a good choice for portable devices that require long battery life.
Operation requires an ISP-compatible programmer, which is not included with the board. The Arduino IDE development environment supports this controller; alternatively, the avr-gcc toolchain can be used. A 5 V power supply with at least 100 mA is required.
Safety information
This board is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits. It is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Work on or in the immediate vicinity of electrical installations requires a qualified electrician; if you have questions about safety-relevant connections, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
