Product Description
A four-channel relay module provides switching outputs for controlling external loads independently of the logic level. Each channel uses an electromechanical relay and can carry currents of up to 10 A. The 5 V operating voltage enables direct connection to standard microcontroller boards without additional voltage converters.
The optocoupler provides galvanic isolation between the control lines and the switching contacts. This prevents interference pulses from the switched load from affecting the sensitive logic level. Each channel is controlled by a digital pin, and the four channels operate completely independently.
Applications include control circuits for pumps, solenoid valves, lamps, or small motors. In home automation projects, it can be used to switch household appliances operating on 230 V AC. Inductive loads such as relays or coils can also be controlled reliably, as the flyback diodes absorb switching spikes.
An external power supply for the load is required. The switching contacts are designed as changeover contacts and withstand voltages of up to 250 V AC or DC; this is not sufficient for high-voltage applications. When switching alternating loads, the applied DC voltage must provide at least 10 mA per channel to ensure that the relay engages reliably.
