Product Description

The heater block heats the nozzle of a 3D printer to the filament’s required melting temperature. The component is used in print head upgrades when the existing heating unit is worn out or higher printing temperatures are required.

The integrated heating cartridge generates heat, which is measured by the installed thermistor and reported back to the printer electronics. The electronics then adjusts the power supply to maintain the target temperature. Because the aluminum housing is insulated with ceramic, heat is distributed evenly and heat radiation is limited.

The heater block fits printers with standard print head geometry. The 24 V power supply is typically already available; the heating cartridge and thermistor are inserted into the designated sockets. Replacement takes just a few minutes, provided the print head is easily accessible. With temperatures of up to 300 °C, the block is suitable for high-temperature filaments such as nylon or PEEK; standard materials such as PLA and ABS require significantly less.

When replacing the unit, make sure that the cartridge is correctly seated in its socket. Thermistor values must be entered in the printer’s firmware; otherwise, the device may display incorrect readings or regulate uncontrollably. Before initial operation, check whether a fan is available to cool the area around the block.

The heater block becomes hot during operation, reaching temperatures of up to 300 °C. Contact can cause burns, so the block should be allowed to cool after printing before maintenance work is carried out. This component is intended exclusively for use in 3D printing systems and is not suitable for other heating purposes.
