Product Description
The three-pin rocker switch is a simple switching element for directly controlling electrical circuits. The component changes its switching position when pressure is applied to the rocker and returns to its original position when released.
The two switching contacts enable changeover circuits in which different circuits are active depending on the switch position. The rating of 250 V AC and 16 A limits its use to low-voltage applications; the module is not suitable for high-voltage or high-current switching.
The switch is used in portable devices such as laboratory power supply prototypes, control panels for test setups, or as a simple on-off switch for 12 V power supplies. It is also used for straightforward manual operation in control panels for model-building projects or experimental kits.
For mounting, a PCB with holes at the correct pitch is sufficient. Wiring is done by directly soldering the three connecting wires to the contact pins; no additional components are required. The operating voltage and the current being switched must remain within the rated values.
Safety Notice
The switch is not intended for direct installation in household mains circuits, but exclusively for prototypes and development purposes. Work on or immediately adjacent to household electrical installations may only be carried out by a qualified electrician. If there is any uncertainty about safe commissioning, consult a qualified electrician before starting work.
