Product description
The adapter cable connects audio sources or audio devices with a 3.5 mm jack plug to circuits with screw-terminal inputs. The jack plug is replaced by three individual, stripped conductors that can be secured in the terminals.
The cable design allows wiring for mono signals with a common ground or for stereo with separate L/R channels and ground. This makes the cable versatile for simple audio connections in prototyping or experiments with single-board computers and microcontroller boards that have audio inputs. Simple speakers or headphones can also be connected to a circuit with screw terminals.
The circuit determines which of the three wires is used for which purpose. The screw connections allow changes without soldering. For secure contacts, the wires should be bare and extend as far as possible into the terminal without clamping any insulation.
Safety notice
The cable is intended exclusively for prototyping as well as testing and development purposes. The audio voltages are within a safe range, but clean contacts are still required to avoid noise and malfunctions.
