Product Description
The keypad captures user input via four keys arranged in a line. The membrane switches are wired in a matrix structure requiring only two control lines: one output pin for row selection and one input pin for column scanning. This saves connection pins compared with separate lines for each key.
With a 5 V operating voltage, the keypad can be connected directly to common microcontroller boards and digital logic. Each key press is detected as a signal change. The mechanical contact delay of approximately 20 ms requires software debouncing to prevent multiple triggering.
The flat design is suitable for integration into control panels for models, prototypes, and simple devices. In everyday projects, the keypad replaces discrete switches and takes up less space. Typical applications include menu navigation in small display systems, signal output in automation projects, or status queries for autonomous model vehicles and robots.
Connection is made via pressure contacts or solder points on the two lines. A power supply and a connection circuit diagram are required to integrate the keypad into a project.
Safety Information
Avoid electrostatic discharge when handling the keypad. The module is intended exclusively for use in testing and development projects and is not suitable for operation in household electrical circuits. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician; consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about connecting it to household voltage.
