Product description
This 16-pin jumper cable is supplied by the metre and is suitable for connecting components on breadboards and plug-in boards. The 16 parallel conductors can be cut to the required length and separated individually as needed.
Each conductor has a cross-section of 0.34 mm² and carries voltages up to the typical logic levels of 5 V or 3.3 V. The lack of an insulating layer between the individual conductors in the bundle requires careful handling and neat work to prevent adjacent conductors from short-circuiting during assembly.
The cable is ideal for rapid prototyping on breadboards, for example for connecting sensors to microcontroller boards or for building circuits during the development phase. The cable supplied by the metre eliminates the need to store many preassembled individual cables and is more cost-effective when larger quantities of connections are required.
Before use, the cable must be divided into the required lengths, and the individual conductors can be fitted with wire end ferrules or crimp contacts as needed. If you need mechanically durable connections or expect frequent reconnecting, you should use preassembled cables with contact pins instead. The operating temperature limits of -20 to +80 °C must be observed.
Safety information
Check the polarity and circuit logic before connecting to live components to prevent damage. The cable is intended exclusively for prototype assembly and testing and development purposes and is not suitable for electrical installations.
