Product description
The LED-illuminated push button is suitable for building prototypes and control systems with visual feedback. Depending on the version, it operates with a 3 V or 5 V supply voltage, making it compatible with many common microcontroller boards. The voltage determines the required power supply and the selection of suitable series resistors for the LED.
The principle is simple: when pressed, the contact closes the circuit and the LED lights up at the same time. When released, the contact opens again. Since the LED is integrated directly into the button, there is no need to build a separate indicator circuit. Current consumption varies depending on the selected version, so the sizing of the series resistors and the output's current-carrying capacity must be checked against the manufacturer's specifications.
Such push buttons are used in alarm or confirmation systems where feedback from the switching action is useful, or in experimental boards where the LED indicates the operating status. The chrome surface and available sizes enable flexible installation solutions in various enclosures.
In addition to the power supply with the selected voltage, operation requires a microcontroller or a simple circuit for detecting the closed and open states. When sizing series resistors, the LED's specific current consumption and the maximum current-carrying capacity of the output port pin must be taken into account.
