Product Description
This drive set for educational and development projects contains a selection of plastic gears, pulleys, and belts. The parts can be attached to motor shafts with common diameters and mounted on construction plates using industry-standard-compatible mounting holes. The modular system enables different gear ratios depending on the number of teeth and pulley diameter.
Gears mesh without backlash, ensuring stable power transmission without delay. Pulleys are driven by belts and do not require the alignment needed by shafts in direct gear coupling; instead, they allow greater distances between the drive and driven components. Belt tension can be easily readjusted by moving the bearing plates.
The applications range from educational robots and model vehicles to laboratory test setups. Typical projects involve implementing different speeds or torque levels in a very small space. For example, when building a mobile robot, the gears can replace one or two motors by driving wheels with different diameters, thereby enabling steering movements without servo-based correction.
All parts fit motors with 3 mm or 4 mm shaft bores; larger shaft diameters require adapter sleeves. The belts are designed for continuous use, but they wear due to friction and should be checked periodically. No lubrication is required.
Safety Information
This set is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Gears and pulleys can transmit high-speed movements, so always use a guard against entrapment and do not touch rotating assemblies during operation.
