Product description
Film capacitors store electrical charge and filter interference from power supplies or signal circuits. The set contains three capacitance values that are standard in analog circuit design: 10 nF for high-frequency applications and as a decoupling capacitor, 100 nF as a universal buffer capacitor for voltage stabilization, and 470 nF for lower frequency ranges. The form factor fits directly into breadboards and perfboards.
The polypropylene insulation makes these capacitors resistant to moisture and temperature changes, making them more reliable for long-term projects than ceramic capacitors. With a rated voltage of 250 V AC, they can be used with all common 5 V and 12 V power supplies without requiring a separately selected higher operating voltage.
The set covers frequently occurring filtering tasks, from suppressing interference from motor accelerators and decoupling analog inputs in measurement amplifiers to signal matching in audio preamplifiers. In everyday project work, the assortment saves repeated individual orders and keeps the most important values available.
Inventory planning is unnecessary due to the large quantities of each value. However, not all film capacitors are the same. The tolerances of these components are within the usual limits; no sorting by measurement accuracy is performed.
Safety information
Film capacitors must be discharged before soldering or taking measurements to avoid damaging measuring instruments. The set is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes.
