Product description
This stepper motor rotates in fixed angular increments when the four motor coils are activated in a defined sequence. An integrated gearbox with a 1:64 reduction ratio significantly increases the available torque and enables precise positioning with each 5.625-degree step. The driver board with a ULN2003 component is included and amplifies the weak control signals from a microcontroller to the high motor currents required.
Control is performed via four inputs, IN1 to IN4, which are connected directly to four digital outputs of a microcontroller. Additional connections supply the board with 5 V and ground. The motor itself connects to the driver board via its preassembled cable and a 5-pin plug, preventing incorrect connections. Four LEDs on the board indicate which coil is currently active, helping with testing and troubleshooting.
The gearbox produces high torque for the motor's size even at low electrical power, making the motor suitable for light mechanical loads where precise and repeatable positioning is more important than speed. At no load, it reaches up to 17 revolutions per minute. Typical applications include camera sliders, small robot axes, and positioning tasks in automation projects.
The motor requires four available digital outputs on the microcontroller and a 5 V power supply for the driver board. The four motor coils must be controlled in the correct sequence, which is usually handled by suitable firmware. The motor reaches its limits under very high load or speed requirements.
Safety information
The motor is operated exclusively with low voltages (5 V); operation with mains voltage is not possible and is not permitted. The device is intended only for prototypes and testing and development purposes. Work on or immediately next to the power supply or wiring should only be carried out by qualified electricians. If you are unsure before commissioning, consult a qualified electrician.
